Leopard With Rare 'Strawberry' Or Pink Coat Spotted In Rajasthan's Ranakpur Hills, First Such Spotting In India

A rare ‘pink leopard’ was spotted in Rajasthan's Ranakpur Hills. This is the first such sighting of a leopard with rare 'Strawberry' or pink Coat in India. A leopard with spots on a pink coat instead of the yellowish-brown coat was seen in South Africa in 2012 and again in 2019. Fateh Singh Rathore, Rajsamand Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) told The Times Of India that locals in Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh claimed to have spotted the 'pink leopard' on more than one occasion.
