The Supreme Court has overturned the one year suspension of 12 BJP MLAs in the Maharashtra assembly. The ruling said that suspending members of the assembly beyond the term of the session is illegal. The 12 BJP MLAs were suspended in July last year for allegedly misbehaving with the presiding officer in the Speaker’s chamber. Devendra Fadnavis, leader of opposition, had called the charge of misbehaviour “false.”
