Mamata Banerjee Targets Modi Govt on Covid-19, Pegasus Scandal, Says She Has Taped Her Phone Camera

Mamata Banerjee addressing the Martyrs’ Day rally via virtual mode from Kolkata targeted Narendra Modi’s Union government for “destroying all the institutions in the country” and for trying to create a “dictatorship”. Opposition leaders such as Sharad Pawar, P Chidambaram, Digvijaya Singh, Ram Gopal Yadav, Manoj Jha, Tiruchi Siva, Supriya Sule, Sanjay Singh, K Keshava Rao, Jaya Bachchan were among those present at the Constitution Club in New Delhi ahead of her address. The West Bengal Chief Minister also spoke about the Pegasus Spyware scandal which was broken by the Wire in recent days, and Banerjee appealed to the Supreme Court to take suo motu cognisance of alleged surveillance using NSO's Pegasus spyware.
