Mumbai COVID-19 Scare: 2 Who Died at KEM Hospital Test Positive for Coronavirus Infection, BMC Issues Advisory, Urging Citizens Not To Panic
A 59-year-old cancer patient and a 14-year-old girl with kidney disease in Mumbai tested positive for COVID-19 posthumously. The two patients died while undergoing treatment at BMC-run KEM Hospital on May 18. Following the concerning development, the BMC clarified that the deaths were not linked to COVID-19. According to hospital authorities, the cancer patient died of sepsis & the young girl passed away due to kidney failure. In order to prevent panic, the BMC on Monday, May 19, issued an advisory and urged citizens to take precautions. The civic body assured that its health department is constantly monitoring the spread of COVID-19 in Mumbai to keep it under control.
