In India, National Doctors' Day is observed in the memory of the legendary physician and the second Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who was born on July 1, 1882. National Doctors' Day is celebrated by health care organisations, wherein doctors and nurses are honoured for their work. Dr Roy's birth and death anniversary coincide on the same day.
