Odisha Train Tragedy: Death Toll Rises To 288; PM Narendra Modi Visits Accident Site In Balasore

288 people were killed and nearly 900 injured in the Odisha train mishap. Three-train collision in Balasore is said to be India’s deadliest accident in over 20 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the train crash site. PM Modi also met with the injured at the hospitals in Cuttack. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said a high-level probe will be conducted. Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has declared one-day mourning. The Railway Minister announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of those who have died. Rs 2 lakh will be paid to those seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to those who sustained minor injuries. Watch the video to know more
