As oil prices settled at multi-decade lows due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, OPEC+ countries led by Saudi Arabia and Russia hammered out a production-cut deal. The deal involved a crude-oil production cut of 9.7 million barrels per day from May. The deal was appreciated by US President Donald Trump who said it would save thousands of jobs in the energy sector.
