A man in Ludhiana, Punjab was forced to carry his injured wife on his bicycle for 12km to get to a hospital. With the country under a complete lockdown, no public means of transport are on the roads. The man also said that he requested ambulance service but Ambulance drivers wanted him to shell out Rs. 2000 for their service. “Nobody was ready to drive us to the hospital due to the lockdown. Ambulance drivers were asking for Rs 2000 which I could not pay, so I had to carry her on my bicycle,” said Devdutt Ram, husband of the injured woman.
