Rakesh Asthana Appointed Delhi Police Commissioner Three Days Before Retirement

Rakesh Asthana, has been appointed as the new Delhi Police Commissioner on July 27. Asthana’s appointment as Delhi’s top cop comes just three days before the former CBI officer was to retire.

A Union Home Ministry order on July 27 said Asthana would lead the Delhi Police after being given a one year extension in service "in public interest".

Asthana was serving as the Director General of the Border Security Force when he was set to retire. Watch the video to know more.
