RCB vs RR IPL 2025 Stat Highlights: Josh Hazlewood, Virat Kohli Help Royal Challengers Bengaluru Secure First Victory of Season at Home

Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs in IPL 2025 clash at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 24. Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Royal Challengers Bengaluru were off to a steady start and survived the powerplay without a loss. Wanindu Hasaranga (1/30) dismissed Phil Salt (26) and made way for a comeback for the Royals. But Virat Kohli (70) and Devdutt Padikkal (50) scored half-centuries to lay solid foundation for the hosts. Royals returned strong with some good end over bowling, but Jitesh Sharma (20*) and Tim David (23) scalped enough hits to take them to a strong 205/5. Sandeep Sharma (2/45) was the most successful bowler for the Royals. Chasing it, Yashasvi Jaiswal (49 off 19) gave the visitors a flying start. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/50) dismissed his partner Vaibhav Suryavanshi (12) and Josh Hazlewood dismissed well-set Jaiswal. Royals carried on with contributions from Nitish Rana (28), Riyan Parag (22) and Dhruv Jurel (47). But after Hazlewood dismissed Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer, their innings faltered and for the third consecutive time, they couldn't close out a chase. This is the sixth victory for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and seventh loss for Rajasthan Royals.
