This was the defending champions' first victory in IPL 2025 after they lost their campaign opener to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Rajasthan Royals were put to bat first by KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane and the hosts were restricted to 151/9. Varun Chakaravarthy (2/17) and Moeen Ali (2/23) were the best bowlers for KKR. The pace duo of Harshit Rana (2/36) and Vaibhav Arora (2/33) also were amongst the wickets. In response, KKR chased down the target in 17.3 overs. Quinton de Kock struck a magnificent 97* off 61 deliveries, a knock that included eight fours and six sixes as Kolkata Knight Riders won the match convincingly. Youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi also scored an unbeaten 22 off 17 deliveries. For Rajasthan Royals, Wanindu Hasaranga was the sole wicket-taker. Quinton de Kock was named Player of the Match for his performance with the bat.
