At least 7 people were injured in boiler explosion in Tamil Nadu. The incident took place at Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) power plant in Cuddalore district on May 7. Reportedly, the mishap took place at the sixth unit of the Thermal Power Station-II in the evening on May 7. Following the incident, the operations were halted & the injured were rushed to the hospital. NLC India Limited is a 'Navratna' government of India company in the fossil fuel mining sector in India and thermal power generation. This comes on a day when India witnessed an industrial tragedy in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh amid the coronavirus lockdown. The Vizag gas leak left 11 people dead and over 1000 people were hospitalised.
