Shiv Sena and BJP workers clashed on the streets of Mumbai on August 24. Shiv Sena is Maharashtra’s ruling party while BJP sits in the opposition chair. The clashes erupted over Union Minister Narayan Rane's comment on slapping Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for his "ignorance of the year of India's Independence.” Narayan Rane faces an arrest warrant after a case was filed by Sena workers. Shiv Sena workers, who were marching towards Narayan Rane’s house in Juhu, Mumbai were stopped by the BJP workers. This led to a fight between the two groups. Sena workers were carrying flags and shouting slogans on their way. Several policemen had to be called in to stop the fight between the rival party workers. Sena workers also pelted stones at the BJP office in Nashik. An FIR was filed against Narayan Rane in Nashik and the police have put out a warrant for the Union Minister's arrest. Narayan Rane had made the remarks on August 23 at a public meeting of BJP for new ministers in PM Narendra Modi's cabinet. Watch the video to know more.
