On October 7, the Supreme Court of India demanded to know "how many have been arrested" in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. The top court asked for a status report by October 8 from the state government. SC asked the state government to specify the action taken in the report. Eight people were killed on October 3 during a protest against Union Minister Ajay Mishra's visit. An FIR has been registered against Ashish Mishra but he has not been questioned or arrested. “The grievance is that you are not registering a proper FIR and a proper investigation not taking place, “Chief Justice Ramana said. Union Minister Ajay Mishra has ruled out resigning even as the opposition is pressing for his sacking. Mishra has admitted that the car belonged to him but has denied that he and his son were present at the spot. Watch the video to know more.
