Two Cases Of Omicron Variant Found; Health Ministry Cautions Against Panic, Misinformation

On December 2, the central government informed that two Covid-19 cases of the Omicron variant have been detected in Karnataka. The Health Ministry said people should remain calm amid growing concern over the strain globally. Two men, aged 46 and 66, have tested positive with the Omicron variant, the Health Ministry declared on December 2. The health ministry said that the first case of Omicron was reported from South Africa and the WHO was informed on November 24. As of December 1, 373 Omicron were found in 29 countries. Travel restrictions have been put in place in India. At present, India’s active case load stands at 99,763. Watch the video to know more.
