The last day of Durga Puja, also known as Durga Visarjan, is celebrated as Vijayadashami, or the victory of good over evil. It will be celebrated on October 5, 2022, and involves the immersion of Durga idols in a waterbody after the Durga Pujo festival. It is believed that Goddess Durga killed the demon Mahishasura on this day and idols of Maa Durga are taken for immersion accompanied by music and chanting.
