The NDA Government announced in Rajya Sabha that it was doing away with Article 370 & 35A which formed the basis of Jammu & Kashmir’s ascension to India. This provision of the Indian Constitution granted a special status to the state of Jammu & Kashmir and its people vis a vis the rest of India. Here are the two provisions explained.
