At the 94th Academy Awards, Best Actor winner Will Smith stormed the stage and slapped comedian Chris Rock. Smith slapped Rock for joking about his wife earlier in the ceremony. The incident shocked the viewers. Meanwhile, a statement posted to the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences’ Twitter account read, “The Academy does not condone violence of any form.” Will Smith won the Best Actor award for King Richard.
