Yasin Malik, Kashmiri Separatist Leader Given Life Sentencing In Terrorism Financing Case
On May 25, Yasin Malik, Kashmiri separatist, was sentenced to life in prison by a special Delhi court. Malik is convicted for terror funding. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) had demanded death penalty, the maximum punishment for Malik. The defence pleaded for life imprisonment. A NDTV report said that Yasin Malik now has the option to appeal the sentencing in the High Court. Yasin Malik had pleaded guilty. On May 25, some places in Srinagar witnessed a shutdown in anticipation of the judgment, reported NDTV. Watch the video to know more.
