Suva, September 1: An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 on the Richter Scale struck Fiji Islands on Sunday. Tremors were felt in the islands at around 9:24 pm IST, reported India Meteorological Department (IMD). However, there are no reports of any casualties or injuries in the quake. Fiji is highly susceptible to regular quakes as it sits on the which is one of the most seismically active regions in the world. Last year in August, A strong 8.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Fiji. The tremor hit 361 kilometres (224 miles) east of the Pacific nation's capital Suva, at a depth of 559 kilometres.
