Saudi authorities have activated public warning alerts in several parts of the kingdom amid the latest escalation in fighting involving the Houthis. The warnings cover cities and areas including Taif, Jeddah, Abha, Al-Ula, Jazan and Yanbu. Residents have been advised to follow instructions issued by the authorities and avoid areas that may be affected by any security incident. 13 civilians injured in latest attacks
The escalation has already resulted in civilian casualties. Saudi authorities said 13 civilians suffered minor to moderate injuries in Houthi ballistic missile and drone attacks on areas including Khamis Mushait, Abha and Taif. Seven homes and two vehicles were also reported damaged in the attacks, according to Saudi authorities.

Houthi Offensive Expands Along Yemen's Red Sea Coast
The latest alerts come as fighting has intensified along Yemen's western coastline. Iran-aligned Houthi forces have made significant advances, including the capture of Mokha and the strategically important Mayun (Perim) Island near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. The group has also seized the Greater and Lesser Hanish islands, further strengthening its position around the Red Sea shipping route.
The Bab el-Mandeb is a major maritime chokepoint connecting the Red Sea with the Gulf of Aden. Any prolonged disruption there could affect international shipping and energy supplies.
Saudi Oil Infrastructure Also Under Pressure
The security situation has also raised concerns over Saudi Arabia's energy infrastructure. A drone attack recently damaged the kingdom's East-West oil pipeline, which provides an alternative route for transporting crude to the Red Sea while bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. The pipeline remains offline, according to Reuters.
The disruption comes as the Strait of Hormuz is also facing severe restrictions amid the wider conflict involving Iran, increasing pressure on regional energy supply routes.
US and Saudi Officials Discuss Response
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met US Central Command chief Admiral Brad Cooper in Jeddah amid the worsening security situation.
The discussions focused on developments involving the Houthis and wider regional tensions. Washington has reportedly provided Saudi Arabia with intelligence and targeting assistance but has so far stopped short of directly striking Houthi positions on Riyadh's behalf.
The situation remains fluid, with Saudi Arabia facing growing security challenges as Houthi forces expand their military operations along Yemen's Red Sea coast and continue launching attacks toward the kingdom.
