Mathura, Jun 27 (PTI) With the arrest of three men today, the district police claimed to have solved the triple murder case reported from Bharau village under the Raya police station over a week ago.
"Three accused were nabbed today, while a hunt for two more -- Kali Charan and Bhago Devi -- is on," Superintendent of Police (SP), Rural, Aditya Kumar Shukla said.
Acting on a tip-off, Chandan Singh, Anil and Gajraj -- all residents of Bharau village -- were nabbed from the Raya cut on the Yamuna Expressway, the SP added.
He said while Sundar Singh (45) was killed in connection with a dispute over his 12-bigha land, former village head Satya Prakash (72) was killed as Gajraj, the representative of the current village head, wanted to dispossess him of a 13-bigha land of the Gram Samaj.
According to Shukla, retired army personnel Bhanvar Singh (55) was killed as he was demanding that Anil returned the Rs 1 lakh he had taken from him.
All three victims were shot dead on the intervening night of June 18 and 19, when they were sleeping at a distance of about 500 metres from each other.
