Karachi, Nov 19 (PTI) Three security personnel were killed on Monday and four others injured in a road side bomb explosion in the Margat coalmine area outside Quetta, police said.

The Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were escorting a vehicle, carrying rations for soldiers deployed near the coal mine for security, when it was hit by the roadside bomb blast, DIG Razzaq Cheema said, adding that the impact was strong that three FC personnel were killed while four others were wounded".

An FC spokesperson later confirmed that the four injured soldiers were out of danger.

"The incident took place on Sunday evening. Suspected militants had planted an improvised explosive device bomb on the roadside and it was detonated when the vehicles passed by," Cheema said.

Meanwhile, the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack.

In Saturday a senior police official, who had served as deputy inspector general in the province was gunned down near his residence in Quetta.
