Asian Games: India Bag Four Bronze Medals in Wushu
Four Indian Wushu players- Roshibina Devi, Narendra Grewal, Surya Bhanu Pratap and Santosh Kumar- on Wednesday bagged bronze medals in their respective categories of Sanda event in the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian games.
Jakarta [Indonesia], August 22 (ANI): Four Indian Wushu players- Roshibina Devi, Narendra Grewal, Surya Bhanu Pratap and Santosh Kumar- on Wednesday bagged bronze medals in their respective categories of Sanda event in the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian games.
While Grewal finished third after being defeated 2-0 by Iranian player Foroud Zafari in the semi-final of men's Sanda 65 kg event, Kumar won the medal after losing Giang Troung of Vietnam in last four clash of men's Sanda 56 kg event.
In women's Sanda 60 kg event, Devi finished third on the podium after being handed over a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Chinese player Yingying Cai.
Bhanu Pratap lost to Erfan Ahangarian 0-2 in the semi-final of the men's Sanda 60 kg category to get a bronze medal in the event.
Meanwhile in tennis, Indian duo of Sumit Nagal and Ramkumar Ramanathan lost to Kazakhstan's Bublik Aleksandr and Yevseyev Denis in men's doubles quarterfinal.
India's total medal tally at the ongoing 18th edition of the prestigious event now stands at fifteen with four gold, three silver, and eight bronze. (ANI)
