New Delhi, Jul 15 (PTI) To enhance its "public and media perception", the Civil Aviation Ministry Monday initiated the process to hire a social media and public relations agency.

On behalf of the ministry, Air India is conducting the process of selecting the agency.

Air India issued the tender or Request for Proposal (RFP) on Monday, wherein it is stated that one of the primary responsibility of the selected agency would be to "manage social media to counter negative opinions online".

Other responsibilities include analysis of the ministry and familiarisation with all aspects of its structure and functions, close liaison and interaction with the media, and monitoring the print, electronic and social media.

The agency will also be tasked with producing a comprehensive report at the end of every month giving a detailed analysis of the coverage of the ministry, crisis communication in the event of an emergency or similar nature among others.
