Srinagar, Apr 27 (PTI) BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav Saturday said there is a wave in favour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the conclusion of three phases of Lok Sabha polls.

"Everyone knows the result of this election. People knew even before the start of the polls that there will be a government led by Modi. After the conclusion of the three phases, there is a wave in favour of Modi and we can say with confidence that Modi will get another term," he told reporters in Anantnag where he addressed an election rally.

The BJP leader said the party was also hopeful of improving its tally of seats in Jammu and Kashmir as compared to the 2014 elections.

"We won three seats in J-K in 2014. We are sure that we will win more than three seats this time. Perhaps, we will see the success of our candidate in south Kashmir and other constituencies as well," he said.

Reacting to PDP president Mehbooba Mufti's remarks that Modi should free Kashmir if he feels the state is at a loss due to its special status, Madhav said Kashmiri politicians should not believe that the Valley is the property of their forefathers.

"Kashmir is an integral part of India. They should stop giving such sermons and change their language. They still feel Kashmir is the property of their forefathers. It is not. It is the pride of crores of Indians," he said.

The BJP national general secretary added that the biggest hurdle in the development of the state was its regional parties.

On the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, Madhav said the party's stand on the matter is clear and a decision will be taken by the parliament.

"We are concentrating on development issues in this election," he added.
