Ambala, Apr 30 (PTI) An elderly woman was allegedly killed by unidentified persons at her residence in village Dhurukhada near Ambala city this morning, police said.

The body of Luxmi (62) was found in pool of blood this morning. The marks of sharp injuries were found on her forehead, they said.

The husband of the deceased had gone to Kurukshetra yesterday to meet some relatives, police said.

When he reached home this morning, he found his wife was lying on her bed in a pool of blood, they added.

He informed the matter to the sarpanch of the village. Later, the police rushed there and took the body to civil hospital at Ambala City where a panel of doctor will conduct the post mortem, officials said.

A case was registered and the matter was being investigated, police said.
