Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 15 (ANI): Union Minister and BJP candidate from Mumbai North Lok Sabha seat, Piyush Goyal, held a roadshow during his election campaign in the constituency on Wednesday.

He met and greeted people during his campaign.

The roadshow featured streets lined with enthusiastic supporters waving flags and chanting slogans, welcoming the Union Minister and his team.

Congress has fielded Bhushan Patil from the Mumbai North seat that goes to polls on May 20, in the fifth phase.

Elections in 6 Lok Sabha seats of Mumbai are scheduled for Phase 5. The seats are Mumbai North, Mumbai North West, Mumbai North East, Mumbai North Central, Mumbai South and Mumbai South Central.

The other constituencies of Maharashtra that will be part of the ongoing election in the fifth phase include Dhule, Dindori, Nashik, Kalyan, Palghar, Bhiwandi and Thane.

Maharashtra has 48 Lok Sabha seats, the second-largest after Uttar Pradesh.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 23 out of 25 contested seats, while the undivided Shiv Sena secured 18 out of 23 seats.

The undivided NCP, part of the opposition alliance, contested 19 seats and won four. Following the split in the Shiva Sena 2022, the Eknath Shinde faction aligned with the BJP.

The counting of votes will be held on June 4. (ANI)
