Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], August 22 (ANI): Bhubaneswar has witnessed a sharp increase in dengue cases, with as many as 15-20 people getting admitted to Capital Hospital here in Bhubaneswar.

Around 70-80 people are getting tested dengue positive out of 700 testing samples of fever.

Speaking to ANI on Tuesday, Director of Capital Hospital, Laxmidhar Sahoo said "Presently in this hospital, 65 dengue patients have occupied the beds. Normally, we keep 10-15 beds reserved for dengue patients every year, but this time it has been increased due to a large number of patients."

"Every day, we are testing around 700 samples of fever out of them 70-80 patients are tested dengue positive and 15-20 people get admission in Capital Hospital Bhubaneswar," Sahoo said to ANI on Tuesday.

Sahoo added that, the large number of dengue cases are putting pressure on the Capital Hospital. We have asked the state government to increase bed facilities and also increased three lab technicians for testing from today. (ANI)
