Narmadapuram (Madhya Pradesh) [India], June 3 (ANI): Two persons died after a car hit a bike in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district, a police official said on Monday.

The accident occurred near Mahua Kheda village under the jurisdiction of Pipariya police station in the district on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. According to the police, there were four persons, including two women travelling in the car and after the accident, the men left the vehicle on the spot and ran away.

Those who died were identified as Madan Raghuvanshi and Kallu Thakur, residents of Kallu Khapa village in the district.

"A car hit a bike parked on the roadside near Mahua Kheda village in which two persons sitting on the bike died. A total of four persons, including two women were travelling in the car and they were going to Bhopal from Pachmarhi. After the accident, the men left the vehicle at the accident site and escaped," said Vijay Sanas, Pipariya police station in charge.

The women travelling in the car also sustained minor injuries in the accident. They told the police that there were two men in the car who ran away from the spot. The women also said that the men were in an inebriated state, the officer said.

Further investigation into the matter is underway, he added. (ANI)
