Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], July 4 (ANI): YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Saturday criticised the Andhra Pradesh coalition government, alleging that it had failed to fulfil its election promises and adopted a vindictive approach towards the opposition.
Speaking to reporters here, Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarayana alleged that the coalition government had failed to deliver on its poll assurances and questioned the accountability of the alleged Rs 3 lakh crore borrowing by the state government.
He further alleged that promises made to women remained unfulfilled, education reforms had come to a standstill, school bags and kits had not been distributed, and the functioning of government hospitals had deteriorated.
Senior YSRCP leader also criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for not receiving President Droupadi Murmu during her recent visit to the state. He alleged that the Chief Minister's absence amounted to disrespecting the constitutional office of the President, adding that Naidu was present in the state during the visit.

Satyanarayana reiterated that Mavigun remained the party's stand, as stated by YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He claimed that Mavigun was the most viable option due to its existing infrastructure and lower expenditure requirements.
Alleging irregularities in the development of Amaravati, Satyanarayana claimed that favoured contractors were being paid at exorbitant rates and that farmers were being adversely affected. He further alleged that there was no clarity on who was promoting the capital city or whether the state government was dealing with the Singapore government or private business interests.
Responding to the controversy over land allotment for the YSRCP office, Satyanarayana said the land had not been allotted exclusively to a political party and claimed that similar allotments had been made to others as well. He also criticised those raising the issue, alleging that they were undermining the constitutional position they held.
Earlier, he alleged that Chief Minister Naidu's remarks that YSRCP should not return to power reflected the ruling alliance's apprehensions.
"Chandrababu Naidu's statement that the Jagan government should not return to power shows his fear. The sooner this government is removed, the better it will be for the state," Satyanarayana said.
Targeting the coalition government, he claimed that no section of society had benefited since it assumed office and alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) recruitment process.
"Since the coalition government came to power, not a single section of society has benefited. There have been large-scale irregularities in the DSC recruitment process, yet the government has failed to respond," he alleged. (ANI)
