New Delhi, May 3 (PTI) A 24-year-old man was arrested today for his alleged involvement in the killing of a criminal and his associate in Dwarka over a property dispute, police said.

The accused, Arjun Dalal alias Monu, was nabbed this afternoon from Dwarka on the basis of a tip-off, they added.

Yesterday, Sandeep alias Mental (36) and his associate, Pawan Maan alias Ponny (29) were shot in Bamnoli village while on their way to the Dwarka court for a hearing in one of the cases in which Sandeep was an accused.

Some of the accused had come in a car and the others on a motorcycle.

The police analysed CCTV recordings and interrogated several people. The police teams raided a number of places in Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh to nab the accused who were identified from the CCTV footage, they added.

It was learnt that Dalal would come to Dwarka to meet his associate and collect some money today. A trap was laid and the accused arrested, police said.

As he did not have any reliable source of income, Dalal got involved with other criminals. He became part of a gang led by Rajeev and was arrested in an Excise Act case in 2016, they said.

The deceased Sandeep was also a criminal of Najafgarh area and also worked as a property dealer, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh.

Sandeep had threatened to eliminate Rajeev following a dispute over a newly constructed property in Pochanpur Village of Dwarka.

Rajeev discussed this with his associates and they planned to eliminate Sandeep. Arjun and Akshay decided to help him and collected information about movement of the deceased, he said.

One of their other friends, Mani, also joined them. They learnt that Sandeep would go to the Dwarka court in his car on the morning of May 5.

The accused followed him in a car and a motorcycle. They got a chance to attack him in Bamnoli village and fired indiscriminately. The car used by the accused was seized from Dalal while the motorcycle was seized yesterday.
