Karachi, Aug 6 (PTI) A powerful bomb blast ripped through a market in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province on Tuesday, killing at least one person and injuring a dozen others, police said.
The blast occured in the evening on Quetta's Mission road market where most shops are owned by the Hazara community.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema told the media that the injured were rushed to the nearby civil hospital for treatment.
The explosion smashed the glasses of nearby shops and shopping malls.
It was the third blast in the provincial capital and the largest city of Balochistan on a third consecutive Tuesday.
On July 23, a blast in the Eastern Bypass area killed four people and left 32 others injured. On July 30, a blast near a police station killed five people and injured 30 others.
The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan had claimed responsibility for the blast near the police station.
Balochistan has been wrecked by ethnic, sectarian and separatist violence for more than a decade.
