Bajaj Pulsar 350 and Bajaj Dominar 350 Expected To Launch in India by May 2026 To Leverage New GST Benefits
Bajaj Auto plans to launch 350cc versions of the Dominar and Pulsar by May 2026. The move aims to utilise lower 18 percent GST rates compared to the 40 percent levied on engines above 350cc. By downsizing the current 373cc engine, Bajaj expects to significantly reduce prices and improve market competitiveness.
Pune, February 6: Bajaj Auto is reportedly preparing to launch the new Pulsar 350 and Dominar 350 in the Indian market within the next four to five months. These upcoming models are expected to feature updated design elements that maintain the aggressive styling of their predecessors while incorporating modern upgrades to enhance the riding experience. The company has focused on refining the mechanical package to ensure these motorcycles remain competitive in a rapidly evolving performance segment.
The strategic upgrade includes a transition to a more tax-efficient engine displacement to navigate the current GST 2.0 regulations. Beyond the revised powertrain, the motorcycles are anticipated to come equipped with enhanced features such as improved digital instrumentation and better ride ergonomics. This move marks a significant shift for the Pune-based manufacturer as it seeks to offer premium performance while adhering to the latest economic and technical standards in the domestic two-wheeler industry. Strategic Engine Downsizing for Competitive Pricing
Bajaj is reportedly developing a downsized version of its existing 373cc engine by reducing the bore size and retaining the same stroke. The upcoming Pulsar 350 and Dominar 350 specifications will include a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, petrol engine that brings the displacement below the 350cc threshold. While the current 400cc iterations produce a peak torque of 35 Nm and power outputs between 39.4 bhp and 42.4 bhp, the new 350cc variants will feature marginally lower power figures but will retain high-performance capabilities for daily commuting and touring. Currently, the Dominar 400 is priced at INR 240,000, while the Pulsar NS400Z retails for INR 194,000. Reports suggest that the upcoming Dominar 350 price in India could be around INR 200,000, and the Pulsar 350 is likely to be priced at approximately INR 170,000. These price adjustments are intended to make the bikes more accessible to buyers who were previously deterred by the higher tax bracket of the 400cc category.
