The new openings—which include senior supplier development engineers for injection moulding and RF integration, a supplier development engineer, and a global supply manager—signal a shift from the finance and compliance roles previously advertised. As per a CNBC-TV18 report, this localized hiring is moving forward even though Starlink's commercial service launch remains frozen due to pending security clearances from Indian authorities. Supply Chain and RF Integration Focus
The job postings outline critical manufacturing and supply chain responsibilities, particularly concerning consumer terminal production. The RF integration role specifically focuses on ensuring the quality and scalability of user terminal hardware at external global suppliers. Selected engineers will be tasked with developing RF test cases, managing calibration procedures for Starlink terminals, and providing manufacturability feedback to design teams.
As per a Republic World report, these openings require extensive experience in high-volume consumer electronics alongside specialized backgrounds in antennas or RF systems. Four of SpaceX's nineteen international board openings are now based in Bengaluru, with selected personnel expected to travel up to 50 percent of the time to regional suppliers across Southeast Asia.
Regulatory Hurdles and Ongoing Push
The expansion of the local supply chain team coincides with a complex regulatory landscape. Commercial deployment has been delayed following scrutiny from security agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding foreign terminal usage during geopolitical conflicts. Despite these administrative bottlenecks, Starlink continues to pursue regulatory progress, recently submitting a fresh application to IN-SPACe for its second-generation constellation.
