Ananya Panday Takes Inspiration From Alia Bhatt's Safeena in Gully Boy For Her Next Film Khaali Peeli

Well, she will be certainly talked about for years. No wonder Ananya Panday took inspiration from Safeena to play her next role. Chunky Panday's daughter will soon be seen opposite Ishaan Khatter in the romantic film, Khaali Peeli. In a recent interview, she revealed that her character will have shades of what Alia did with Gully Boy. Speaking about her role in Khaali Peeli, Ananya told Times Now, “I play a girl from Mumbai in the film and so, I will be seen speaking in the Bambaiya language. It’s similar to what Alia (Bhatt) did in Gully Boy. I don’t know if I can be as good as Alia, but I will definitely try to match up to her.”

That would be interesting to watch. In the recent past, veteran actress Rekha mimicked the character, to the audience's applause, while she was attending an awards show. At the time of Gully Boy's release, Alia, while speaking to Deccan Chronicle, had said that only she could have played the role in Gully Boy. "I was very excited because I always wanted to work with Zoya. When I first heard the story it touched the very sensitive part in me. I had tears in my eyes in the end of the narration. I was very overwhelmed. There was no question in my head whether I needed to be a part of this script or not. I was very clear. I knew there was only one person who could have done this part and that was me," she expressed.
