Prabhu Deva was born on April 3,1973. The dancing master is all set to blow out 45 candles on his birthday cake. Deva was blessed with the genes that made him dance as effortlessly as only he can. Deva's father, Mugur Sundar is a renowned choreographer for South Indian movies and he was his son's ultimate role model.. His father has choreographed more than 10,000 movies from Down South. Frankly speaking, not dancers in India who have the experience and the expertise to mesmerise audiences the way Deva does. No wonder Deva was called India's answer to Michael Jackson

. Deva has come a long way from being the backdrop dancer to the dancing superstar, in fact the maestro. Notably, Deva's career began being a background dancer and he is now a renowned film actor. He has also evolved into being a successful movie director and choreographer. He surely kicked off new trends with his dance moves with hit songs such as Kay Sera Sera and Urvasi. As this phenomenal dancer turns 41, here are a few facts you probably did not know about him.

Having a choreographer by his dad Prabhu Deva left no stone unturned to learn as much as possible about dance with all its form and nuances. Deva has been trained in the Indian classical dance form Bharatnatyam from the renowned artistes Dharmaraj and Udipi Lakshminarayanan.

After developing some killer moves in his repertoire from the classical form, Deva only polished his skills to stand out as one of the most phenomenal talent even in the western form. No wonder he has bagged several awards for his unmatched dance moves that have featured in very many dance sequences. He has won two National Film Awards for Best Choreography in the year 1997 and then again in the year 2004 respectively for Minsaara Kanavu, a Tamil song, and Main Aisa Kyun Hu song from Lakshya feturing Hrithik Roshan.
