While the actor’s schedule for 2026 is currently occupied by other commitments, industry insiders suggest that the 2027 slot is being meticulously planned to ensure a grand return to form.

According to recent industry reports, the upcoming film is being envisioned as a large-scale action drama with a deep emotional core. Producer Dil Raju, known for recent hits like Game Changer, is reportedly aligning schedules with director Vamshi Paidipally to ensure the film meets its ambitious deadline.

A source close to the development told Bollywood Hungama, "Salman Khan is in talks with Dil Raju and Vamshi Paidipally to plan their schedules in a way that an Eid 2027 release becomes a reality. The project is a pure commercial entertainer with Salman Khan playing to the gallery."

The report further suggests that Paidipally, who directed the National Award-winning Maharshi, aims to present Khan in a "mass-hero" avatar that highlights his traditional strengths. Pre-production is currently underway, with filming expected to commence in April 2026 to allow ample time for extensive VFX work.

The decision to target 2027 follows a strategic shift in Khan's immediate release calendar. The actor notably opted out of the Eid 2026 window, which has since been occupied by the high-octane actioner Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Instead, Khan is focusing on his upcoming war drama, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. Formerly titled Battle of Galwan, the film is scheduled for an August 2026 release. The project, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, sees Khan portraying a decorated Indian Army officer and has already generated significant buzz following the release of its first look and the song "Chand Dekh Lena."

For over a decade, Salman Khan has been synonymous with Eid releases, a trend that began with the 2009 hit Wanted.
