On December 2017, Bollywood lost a legend in Shashi Kapoor. The actor, producer and director had passed away after a prolonged illness that has confined him to a wheelchair. While the industry mourned the passing away of the legend, Shashi Kapoor has left a treasure-cove of cinematic memories for us to remember him by. The son of actor Prithviraj Kapoor and the younger brother of Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor had been born as Balbir Raj Kapoor. Shashi Kapoor was known for his romantic roles in movies like Jab Jab Phool Khile, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Aa Gale Lag Jaa et al. He was also popular for being paired up with Amitabh Bachchan in several big blockbusters like Trishul, Namak Halaal, Kabhi Kabhie, Silsila,  Suhaag etc.

However, it is with offbeat roles in films like Siddhartha and several Merchant-Ivory productions, that Shashi Kapoor created a legacy for himself. He also won the National Award for the Best Actor for his performance in New Delhi Times.
