The Skywalker saga's epic conclusion, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is among the biggest film releases scheduled for Christmas. As the trilogy comes to an end, fans are excited to see what happens in the finale as Kylo Ren and Rey come face to face for the last time. The buzz for the Lucas-Disney drama is high and now early estimates suggest that the film's opening weekend may come close to a little over $200 million. The film is of course not coming close to the biggest release of the year, Avengers: Endgame which bagged an opening weekend of $357 million. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Final Trailer: Daisy Ridley's Rey Sets out on a Mission to Fight a War and End a Beautiful Era (Watch Video).

What's surprising is that despite The Rise of Skywalker being the finale, early reports suggest that its ticket sales for the first weekend are lower than its procedures, Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($247 million) and Star Wars: The Last Jedi ($220 million).

This is the ninth and the final film in the Skywalker saga. Directed by JJ Abrams, the film is all set to release on December 20. All in all, it looks like it is going to be a great year ending for Disney, what with Star Wars playing in theatres for the holidays along with their recent release, Frozen 2 which has already made a remarkable collection of $450 million worldwide. Star Wars: Episode IX Teaser: Ian McDiarmid’s Emperor Palpatine Returns and Daisy Ridley's Rey is Determined to Fight Him (Watch Video).

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac in lead roles. Abrams also directed The Force Awakens, the first film in the trilogy which still stands as the highest-grossing movie ever in North America with $936 million.
