The controversy erupted following the digital release of the track, which features Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt in a high-energy sequence. Audiences and critics quickly flagged the Hindi translation of the lyrics as vulgar and sexually suggestive, leading to formal complaints with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and a notice from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

In response to the escalating pressure and legal concerns, the filmmakers have since pulled the Hindi version of the song from YouTube and major streaming platforms.

Fatehi Addresses the Viral Backlash

Breaking her silence on the matter, Fatehi clarified that the original shoot took place years ago for the Kannada version of the film. She explained her decision to join the project was based on the scale of the production and the presence of a Bollywood icon.

"I shot this song three years ago in Kannada," Fatehi stated. "I said yes to it because it was a part of a big film, with a big icon, Sanjay Dutt. Who would say no to work with him? He's such an icon. I also thought it is a remake of an iconic song."

Regarding the translation provided to her on set, she added, "I'm relying on the filmmakers to translate the song, and that is what I go by. When they're translating the song to me, nothing seemed inappropriate or vulgar."

Claims of Unauthorised Dubbing and Lack of Approval

The actress expressed frustration over the recent Hindi adaptation, claiming the production team bypassed her during the dubbing process. She asserted that the "inappropriate" lyrics currently under fire were not part of the version she initially agreed to perform.

"Whatever they've done right now, which is creating a Hindi version and dubbing the voice in Hindi and having those lyrics, which are very inappropriate, I had no idea about that," Fatehi revealed. "They didn't take any approvals; they didn't take any permission from me."

Concerns Over Reputation

Fatehi also touched upon the challenges of being an independent artist in the film industry, noting that her reputation is at risk when creative decisions are made without her consent. She highlighted the power imbalance often faced by those without family ties to the industry.

"I again flagged it to the director. I said, my image and reputation is on the line," she said. "As artists, especially artists like me, we don't really have this backing. We're not nepo kids...
