Priya Prakash Varrier, India's Favourite Winker, to Debut in Tamil?

With one wink, she stole the hearts of millions of Indians, including top celebrities. Priya Prakash Varrier is getting a lot of attention (as well as attracting enough controversies) for her winky part in the Malayalam movie Oru Adaar Love, and even before the movie is scheduled to release, the pretty girl has been getting more offers, some beyond her own state. In between, there were rumours that she was being eyed to play the female lead in Ranveer Singh's Simmba. That proved false as Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar, producers of the movie, chose star-kid Sara Ali Khan in the movie.
However, as per the latest speculation, there is a chance that Priya Prakash Varrier might make her debut in Tamil soon. As per a tweet from industry watcher Ramesh Bala, she has been signed to play the lead in director Nalan Kumarasamy's next. Nalan Kumarasamy is known for making the excellent black comedy Soodhu Kavvum, starring Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha and Sanchita Shetty.
If the news is true, this is definitely an interesting launchpad for the Oru Adaar Love girl.
In the meantime, two men from Hyderabad have filed an FIR against the girl because winking is prohibited in Islam. The petition read, “The 30-second clip shows a schoolgirl and schoolboy exchanging smiles, eyebrows wiggles and winks from across the way. Winking itself is forbidden in Islam and in a case where the act of winking is superimposed with a sacred song, written in the praise of Prophet Mohammed and his first wife…the same act becomes an act of blasphemy.” Wow, we are really curious to see which texts in Quran actually prohibits winking.
