Shilpa Shinde Confirms ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’ OTT Shift
In an exclusive conversation with ETimes, Shilpa Shinde revealed that while Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain continues to remain a flagship show, its visibility on traditional television has faced challenges. The actress shared that despite her return in December, many viewers were unaware of her comeback. Confirming the digital shift, Shinde told ETimes, “It is true that Bhabhiji will soon move to an OTT platform. The show will be available in a finite format and will continue in seasons. This has been under discussion for a long time, and I am glad that our show will continue on another platform. The new generation watches shows on their mobile phones.”
‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’ Returning to Original Concept
The shift to digital also marks a creative pivot for the production. Shinde revealed that the makers intend to strip away recent subplots to return to the "original essence" that made the show a household name. The focus will return to the comedic tension and "taaka-jhaaki" (peeping) between two neighbouring couples, a core concept Shinde felt was diluted in recent scripts. Specifically, the Ghoonghat Ganj track has been scrapped to make room for the show's classic flavour. “Viewers enjoyed the original concept... that concept was absent when I returned to the show because the script had changed,” Shinde explained. “I am looking forward to this new development.” Shilpa Shinde Returns With ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai 2.0’, Says, ‘Aapki Asli Angoori Bhabi Is Back’; Shubhangi Atre Reacts After Being Replaced Again (Watch Videos)
