Ahmedabad, July 16: A major case of mass copying in standard 12th exams has come to light in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. A total of 959 class 12 students were involved in a massive copying incident. The incident became apparent when it was observed that the students attempted the same questions and made the same mistakes. According to a Times of India report, this is one of the single largest instances of mass copying from the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board. The incident has occurred despite strict measures to keep an eye on mass copying. The results of these students have been withheld till 2020, and they have failed in subjects where they have copied.
Suspicion was raised when it was noticed that an overwhelming number of students wrote the same answers for the same questions and even made the same mistakes. Economics, English Literature and Statistics were the subjects in which the students were suspected to have cheated. Reportedly, some students informed the committee that the answers for the said questions were dictated to them.
