The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary (MSBSHSE) is done with conducting the board examinations 2019 for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC). SSC class 10 board exam 2019 began on March 1 and continued till March 22, on the other hand, HSC class 12 examinations were held between February 21 to March 20. About 17 lakh students participated in the SSC examinations, and 14.91 lakh candidates took the class 12 exams that were conducted between February and March at various centres across the state. Despite adopting stringent measures, a total of 230 cases of cheating were reported during the Maharashtra HSC board exam 2019, and in class 10 examination, 366 copying cases were conveyed. Out of the said number, 83 involved students appearing under Aurangabad division followed by Latur, the where 51 such cases were reported. Again, during SSC board examination 2019, 153 copying cases were filed from Aurangabad division, followed by Nagpur 25 and Latur 20.

The Maharashtra board officials further informed that mathematics and science subjects saw the maximum number of cheating cases during both class 10 and class 12 board exams 2019. Above 50 per cent cheating cases in these subjects were observed from Aurangabad and Latur divisions during both the exams, as reported by The Indian Express. In addition, five cheating cases during Psychology class 12 exams and 4 in Sanskrit examinations involved students from Aurangabad.
