The Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department (Samaj Kalyan Vibhag) opened registration for UP Scholarship 2026-27 on August 11, 2026, covering students from Class 9 to Class 12 as well as those pursuing graduation, post-graduation, diploma, or ITI courses under the Dashmottar scholarship. The schedule was laid out in two government orders issued by the department on July 20, 2026, one for the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Intermediate scholarship (Class 9 to 12) and another for the Dashmottar scholarship, with both schemes open to students from General, SC, ST, OBC, and minority communities. With the registration period now underway, the renewal window for Class 9 and 12 students has already closed, while fresh applicants and those under the Dashmottar scheme still have time left to apply.

Class 9-12 Scholarship: Registration Timeline

Renewal students in Class 10 and Class 12, who were already receiving the scholarship, had to complete registration and hard copy submission between August 11 and August 25, 2026, a window that has now passed.

Fresh students in Class 9 and Class 11, applying for the first time, can register online from August 11 to September 21, 2026, giving them a few more weeks before the deadline closes. UP Scholarship 2026-27: When Is the Last Date To Apply for Classes 9 to 12?

Before the student registration process began, schools completed background preparation on the portal, with school-level master data preparation running from July 22 to August 5, and District School Inspector verification of schools running from July 23 to August 9.

What Happens After Submission

Once a student submits the UP Scholarship 2026 application, the process moves through several verification stages before funds are disbursed. The school checks and forwards eligible applications, the District School Inspector verifies actual student numbers, NIC (National Informatics Centre) screens the data for errors, and the district committee locks the final, verified list before funds are transferred directly to students' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

For renewal students, this process is expected to conclude with payment between October 25 and October 31, 2026. For fresh students, since more verification steps are involved, the money is expected to be credited between January 25 and January 31, 2027. Azim Premji Scholarship 2026: Registration Ends Today; Check Eligibility, Amount and How To Apply.

Dashmottar Scholarship: Dates For Students Above Class 12

Students enrolled in graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, or similar programmes fall under the Dashmottar scholarship, which follows a separate timeline from the Class 9-12 scheme and has not yet opened for registration.

Renewal students under Dashmottar can register and submit hard copies from September 15 to October 15, 2026, while fresh students can register online from September 15 to October 31, 2026.

Institutions are currently completing preparatory work ahead of this window, with master data preparation running from July 22 to August 15, and course fee verification by the concerned university or affiliating agency running from July 23 to August 30.

For Dashmottar renewal students, payment is expected between January 16 and January 25, 2027. For fresh Dashmottar students, it is expected between January 27 and January 31, 2027.

How To Apply For UP Scholarship 2026-27

Applications must be submitted only through the official portal, scholarship.up.gov.in. Students should keep the following in mind: submitting the form online is not the final step, as most categories also require a hard copy submission to the school or institution. The bank account used must be in the student's own name and linked to Aadhaar, since the scholarship amount is transferred directly through this route. These are government-notified dates, and processing timelines can occasionally shift, so students are advised to check the official portal periodically for updates.
