Kolkata, February 13: After the Bengali paper of the Madhyamik exam was allegedly leaked on Tuesday, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) lodged a complaint with police against unknown miscreants who circulated the paper on social media. The Class 10 Board examination had started on Tuesday with Bengali paper. According to reports, a top official was quoted saying the miscreants shared a purported image of the question paper of the Class 10 Board examination on the first day of the examinations. A total of 10,66,000 students are appearing in the class 10 examination conducted by the WBBSE. The incident came to light after a senior board official received an image of the Bengali question on his Whatsapp number and lodged a police complaint. According to a report by PTI, WBBSE president Kalyanmoy Ganguly confirmed the incident and said the board has lodged a complaint at Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate Cyber Crime cell after a senior government official got the image of the Bengali question on his Whatsapp number. He added saying that the circulated paper purportedly resembled one page of the original Bengali question paper of Tuesday. Ganguly further added saying the images were taken and forwarded on WhatsApp after the exams began and asserted there was no question of holding the Bengali first paper exams again. “By that time candidates were already writing their papers inside the centre. So there has been no leak”, he added. The President said the authorities do not have a report of any question paper leak and the first day examinations passed off smoothly everywhere in the state, including the hills.
