Panji, June 20:  The flight operations from Goa airport has reportedly been suspended due to bad weather conditions. According to ANI, almost 16 flights have been diverted so far and the operations have been stalled since 1:30 pm.

The Indian Meteorological Department of Goa has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall which is likely to occur at few isolated places of North Goa and South Goa districts of the state between June 20 and 21. The state Met department also warns of thunderstorms and gusty winds along with the rains on these two days.

Flight operations suspended due to bad weather/poor visibility at Goa airport since 1;30 pm, 16 flights diverted so far.

Reportedly, the airport authorities  in Chandigarh had also made a similar move on June 15 due to poor visibility, not due to rain, but the poor air quality of Delhi and Chandigarh. On Thursday, all 33 flights were cancelled at the airport, which included national and international flights. As per ANI, suspended dust particles in the atmosphere has reduced the visibility required for take-off and landing at the airport.

Due to the services being suspended at the Goa airport, the passengers are now facing a lot of problems and are forced to take roadways or rail.
