Anurag Basu is another success story from Television after Shah Rukh Khan. Although it's a pity that in India, twain hardly meet but the small tube has produced some excellent talent for the 70mm. Saturday Suspense

Way back in the end of 90s, the content on Zee TV used to so refined and interesting. Saturday Suspense was one of them. It was show which had each episode directed by a different director and Basu's short was Double Cross. It had Irrfan Khan, Surbhi Zaveri Vyas, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, Ragesh Asthana. Koshish...Ek Aashaa

This show starring Varun Badola and Sandhya Mridul is perhaps one those rare Ekta Kapoor produced shows which was saner and relevant before she started taking the 'K' bit a little too seriously. Basu directed the series which was about a woman who is fooled into marrying a specially-abled man and how she copes with it.

Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat

This was an anthology series with right amount of suspense, thrill, romance and dashing Rajeev Khandelwal. The episodes were very smartly written with some stellar twists. Love Story

Those were the times when romances on TV weren't all about getting married to the hero or having flying sindoor smear your forehead. It was about small gestures and cutesy moments. Love Story was that which was Basu's production venture. This series still has a fan following. OST was common in Indian serials too and is not just a Kdrama thing. Gone are those sweet days.
