Dr Kafeel Khan, who is out on bail in the BRD Medical Hospital case facing probe in the death of infants due to lack of oxygen supply, and whose brother, Kashif Jamal was shot at by two unidentified bike-borne miscreants in Durgabadi, Gorakhpur has demanded for a CBI inquiry in to the case. Dr Kafeel also raised questions about the conduct of UP Police in his brother's case.

Dr Kafeel Khan's brother, who was shot on June 10, has been shifted to the King George Hospital in Lucknow after his condition deteriorated. Talking to the media, Dr Kafeel first said that "it is very evident that UP Police was acting on someone's instruction."

He also clarified on the land dispute between his family and BJP MP Kamlesh Paswan and Satish Nangalia accusing them of hiring shooters to attack his brother.

He made a demand for CBI inquiry in to the case saying:

Dr Kafeel's brother was shifted to Lucknow's King George Medical University on June 12 after his medical condition had deteriorated. Jameel was shot at by unidentified assailants near JP Hospital in Gorakhnath area in Gorakhpur on late Sunday night. He had suffered bullet injuries on his arm, neck, and chin and was admitted at a local hospital, where his condition started deteriorating in the wee hours on Tuesday after which the decision to shift him to Lucknow was taken by medical authorities.
